Pricing & Subscription FAQ
Is RelationMap.io really free?
Yes. Local editing is 100% free, forever. Your maps are stored in your browser — no server costs, no limits, no expiration. Create a free account and get unlimited cloud-saved projects too.
What do I get with the Pro plan?
Pro unlocks AI-powered editing (1,000 credits a month), private projects, and your own choice of license. Drawing, sharing and every export format, JSON included, stay free for everyone.
Can I try Pro before paying?
Absolutely. Start with the free tier and explore everything RelationMap.io offers. When you're ready for AI-powered editing or private projects, upgrade to Pro in one click.
How does billing work?
Pro is billed monthly at $9.90/month or $99/year (save 2 months). You can cancel anytime from your account settings — no long-term contracts, no cancellation fees. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
What are AI credits?
Each AI interaction costs 3 credits. Pro gives you 1,000 credits/month — enough for ~330 AI messages. Credits refresh with each billing cycle (not calendar month), so you always get a full month's worth. Paste a story, chat to edit, or generate maps from scratch.
What happens to my maps if I cancel Pro?
Your maps are never deleted. If you downgrade, all your cloud projects remain accessible. You lose access to AI features and private projects. You can re-subscribe anytime to restore those Pro perks.
What's the difference between local and cloud maps?
Local maps are saved in your browser — fast, private, and unlimited. Cloud maps sync across devices, can be shared via link, and are backed up on our servers. Both free and Pro users get unlimited cloud maps.
Do I need an account to use RelationMap.io?
No. You can open the editor and start creating immediately — zero sign-up required. An account is only needed if you want cloud saving, sharing, or collaboration features.
Can I share maps without Pro?
Yes! Free maps are shared publicly under CC BY-NC (non-commercial). Anyone can view, fork, and remix. Pro lets you keep maps private and choose your own license.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Your payment info is never stored on our servers.
