Epstein Files — Connection Map — Relationship Map
Open in Editor ↗On August 10, 2019, Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. The official ruling: suicide by hanging. The surveillance cameras outside his cell had malfunctioned. Both guards assigned to check on him every 30 minutes had fallen asleep — simultaneously — and falsified their logs. No one has been held accountable for these failures.
This relationship map is built entirely from federal court filings, FBI investigative records, and the unsealed flight logs of Epstein's private Boeing 727, known in the press as the "Lolita Express." Every connection shown here is documented. None of it is speculation.
The Machine
Ghislaine Maxwell was not simply Epstein's ex-girlfriend. A federal jury convicted her in December 2021 on five counts, including sex trafficking of a minor. She identified targets, built trust, and delivered them to Epstein. Sarah Kellen managed the scheduling. Jean-Luc Brunel, through his MC2 Model Management agency, sourced young women from Eastern Europe and South America under the cover of modeling contracts.
Brunel was found dead in his Paris jail cell in February 2022. Ruled a suicide. Two people at the center of this network, both dead in custody, both by their own hand. Both times, the system shrugged.
Follow the Money
Epstein called himself a financial advisor, yet no one has ever been able to identify more than a handful of actual clients. The only verified major patron was Les Wexner, founder of L Brands and the man behind Victoria's Secret. Wexner granted Epstein sweeping power of attorney — authority to sign checks, buy and sell properties, and manage investments. Epstein's $77 million Manhattan townhouse on East 71st Street was transferred from Wexner for $0.
Leon Black, founder of Apollo Global Management, paid Epstein $158 million between 2012 and 2017. The stated purpose: tax advice and estate planning. A convicted sex offender collecting nine-figure consulting fees. A full accounting of where that money actually went has never been produced.
The 2008 Deal
In 2008, Miami U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta approved a plea agreement that allowed Epstein to plead guilty to state prostitution charges and serve 13 months in a county jail with work-release privileges six days a week. The agreement included an extraordinary clause: blanket immunity for all known and unknown co-conspirators. His defense team included Alan Dershowitz and former Solicitor General Kenneth Starr.
The Miami Herald's investigation later revealed that this deal was negotiated without notifying the victims — a direct violation of the federal Crime Victims' Rights Act. Acosta was later appointed Secretary of Labor by Donald Trump. He resigned after Epstein's 2019 arrest.
The Names in the Logs
Flight records show former President Bill Clinton took multiple trips on Epstein's aircraft. His spokesperson said Clinton "knew nothing about Epstein's terrible crimes." Donald Trump described Epstein as a "terrific guy" in a 2002 magazine profile, noting that Epstein "likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side." Trump later claimed they had a falling-out around 2004.
Bill Gates met with Epstein multiple times after the 2008 conviction. The New York Times documented at least three meetings between 2011 and 2014, including a visit to Epstein's Manhattan residence. Gates said the meetings were about philanthropy.
Prince Andrew settled Virginia Giuffre's civil lawsuit in February 2022 for a reported £12 million. He admitted no wrongdoing.
The Bank Knew
JPMorgan Chase continued banking Epstein for five years after his 2008 guilty plea, only closing his accounts in 2013. Former executive Jes Staley exchanged emails with Epstein that included references to young women. In June 2023, JPMorgan paid $290 million to settle claims brought by Epstein's victims. The bank admitted no wrongdoing.
What Remains Sealed
In January 2024, a batch of court documents from the Giuffre v. Maxwell case was unsealed, revealing additional names. But legal observers note that the most sensitive material — detailed accounts of alleged abuse and a wider circle of participants — remains under seal. There is no indication these files will be fully released.
